It is with sadness that we announce the passing of
Reginald "Reg" Rushton, age 84,
of Oxford. Reg passed away peacefully at the East Cumberland
Lodge, Pugwash on Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
Born in Oxford, he was a son of the late Harland and Greta
(Carver) Rushton.
Reg drove truck for McClelland’s Lumber Company
most of his life. He loved to entertain and always told a
great story.
He is survived by children Robert "Bob" (Lillian),
Oxford, Shirley Hurley (Buddy), Parrsboro, Gloria Miller, Oxford,
Beverly (John) Noiles, Parrsboro, Jim (Betty Ann) Parris, Five
Islands, Doreen (Curtis) LeBlanc, Oxford; daughter-in-law Joanne
Parris, Oxford; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great
great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Eveline Parris, son Wayne,
grandson Josh, granddaughter Charity, great grandson
Nathan.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of
W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water Street,
Oxford, (902-447-2167) where visiting hours will take place on Monday,
January 30, 2017 from 1 until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by
the funeral, Rev. Chris Greer officiating. Burial will take
place in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford in the spring.
