G. Frances Rushton, age 97, of Oxford,
passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday,
April 19, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst,
NS.
Born in Hartford, NS she was a
daughter of the Late John "Archie" & Clara (Carter)
Lewis.
Frances was known for her knitting and
her cooking, especially her biscuits. She always contributed
to the Pot Luck suppers and was active in the Seniors Club at the
Meadow Vista. Baptized in the Oxford Baptist Church, the
past 3 to 4 years worshipped at Middleboro Fundamental
Church. She always looked forward to visits from family and
friends and her Home Care workers.
She will be
sadly missed by her children; Geraldine "Jean" McGill (Jess
Thompson), Mount Pleasant, Archie "Big Arch", Kolbec, NS,
Muriel (John) Chapman, Millvale, NS; 10 grandchildren; 21 great
grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister Edith Bailey,
Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews.
She was
predeceased by her husband Edgar; daughter Shirley Legere; 5
grandsons; siblings, Stanley, Gerald, Russell, Cecil, Beulah Langille,
George.
Arrangements have been entrusted to W.
Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2361)
where visitation will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to
9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday,
April 23, 2013 at 2 pm. Burial to take place in the Pine Grove
Cemetery, Oxford.
