It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of Theresa Florence Scott, age
87, of Sutherland Lake. Theresa passed away on Saturday, November 2,
2024 at the Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre.
Born in Amherst, NS, she was a
daughter of the late William and Genevieve St. Peter.
Theresa enjoyed watching and feeding the
birds, gardening and flowers. She loved baking and cooking for family
and friends and she loved her cats. She was also known to putter
around the house, doing word search books, puzzles, reading and
drawing. She also enjoyed a number of road trips with family and
friends.
Theresa worked at Sonny Boy Bakery, Life
Savers and The Wandlyn (Travelodge)
Theresa will be dearly missed by her
husband Warren; children Andrew Messenger, Janice Brown (Noel), Karen
Messenger Taylor (Bill), Theresa Messenger; grandchildren Anthony
Taylor, Dianne (David) Van De Weil, Michael Brown, Jennifer (Shawn)
Stuart, April Messenger (Gordie), Lee Brown (Kristine); five
great-grandchildren; brother Gary (Ruth) St. Peter; sister-in-law
Marjorie (Billy Dee); numerous nieces and nephews. Theresa was not
only a mother to her own children but was the other mother to many
kids on "the hill".
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her daughter Elizabeth Messenger, sisters Dorothy Steele and
Phyllis Pellerin; brother-in-laws Ricky Scott and Garth
Scott.
The family would like to give a special
thank you to the nurses and doctors of the Palliative Care Unit at the
Colchester East Hants Health Care Centre.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
W. Allen Funeral
Home (902-447-2167), Oxford NS, where a Celebration of
Life will take place on Friday, November 15th from 11 AM to 1
PM.
Family flowers only but those wishing to
make a donation in Theresa's memory may do so to the Canadian Cancer
Society, the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, the Lung Association of
Nova Scotia or the Heart and Stroke
Association.
