It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marjorie Jean Harvie, 87, of Pugwash, Nova Scotia.  Marjorie passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the East Cumberland Lodge.

Born in Linden, NS, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Caroline (Batstone) Patterson.

Marjorie was raised in Linden Nova Scotia. After graduating from Oxford Regional High School, she obtained her RN certification from The Nova Scotia Hospital. Furthering her education, she attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  Over her career she worked at The Nova Scotia Hospital in Dartmouth, the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax and also in Public Health in Cumberland and Pictou Counties.  Marjorie taught Sunday School, loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her extended family.

She will be missed by her second husband, Roy Harvie of Halifax and his family; Sisters-in-law: Shirley, Wilma, and Ruth Patterson; her first husband James Watson's family, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, James Watson, as well as her brothers Hiel (Margaret), Lawrence, Cecil, Douglas (Beatrice), Ernest, and Gerald, her infant brother.

Arrangements have been entrusted to W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS.  A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11 am.  Interment will take place in the Lorne Street Cemetery, New Glasgow, at 4 pm.
